When we think of seasonal allergies we think of spring, pollen and hay fever. But to much surprise many people suffer from winter allergies and don't even realize it. Because we spend a lot of time indoors, the collection of mold, mildew, dust mites and for some animal dander can trigger allergy symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing and dry itchy skin..
Here are 5 suggestion you can try to help fight these problems:
Use a humidifier to reduce dryness in the air, but don’t over do it because dust mites and mold thrive in humidity.
Wash sheets weekly in hot water to kill dust mites, and if possible, use hypoallergenic cases for mattresses and pillows.
Clean, dust, and vacuum regularly.
Invest in a air purifier.
To minimize animal dander, bathe pets once a week, but make sure you don't dry out your pets skin and coat because it can make things worse for you and your fur baby.
